About Mangrove Textiles
Meet Marjorie.
Marjorie is a Nilus-Leclerc Medico-S table loom.
Originally designed as an occupational therapy tool for veterans returning from war, the Medico-S loom was produced from the 1960s through the 1970s.
With 22” width, this table loom is perfect for weaving table runners, tea towels, scarves, and lengths of fabric to sew into small products like bags and accessories.
I’m grateful to have found this beautiful little loom second hand from a seller who kept it in storage since the 1980s. Now, Marjorie helps me make woven magic happen every day!
Meet Emily.
I love yarn.
This love affair began at age 11 when I learned to hand crochet a chain (or “braid with one string” as I called it) at summer camp.
I’ve learned to crochet, knit, spin yarn on a drop spindle, sew, and weave.
Each fiber art form has its own lessons to teach, its own process of construction, and its own mind-expanding approach.
